I don’t care what ANYONE says about #NewJersey, I love it here and I’ll be mourning when we move😭😭😭 Besides the obvious perks– the beach, living close to Philly/NYC/family– our assignment here has afforded me the rare chance of reconnecting with several old friends– most recently Maryellen & Derren– who I met when we were all students at #PennState
ELEVEN YEARS since we last saw eachother, here they are with their ADORABLE son Connor and another sweet baby on the way! THANK YOU, Maryellen for reaching out and asking me to photograph your beautiful family! I’m so happy for you and beyond grateful we were able to reunite💕✨ @ Ocean City, New Jersey (09.12.19)

When your client has the kindest, most patient disposition of any mother you’ve ever met—AND she also looks like a supermodel (#AlessandraAmbrosio, amiright?!) ——even the WINDIEST/(unexpectedly)COLDEST evening of the ENTIRE summer (25mph wind gusts💨) won’t prevent you from the most BREATHTAKING moments imaginable!😍 Thank you, Felicia (& husband Michael), for remaining positive, calm and friendly, despite quite unfavorable weather conditions. I still can’t believe you found me & my work on Instagram😂 #jerseyshorephotographer But I’m so glad you did! In spite of the ruthless, whipping wind & the fiercest crashing waves (I almost got knocked down with my camera!), we still lucked out with the most stunning sunset sky– not to mention the most well-behaved children!😇💕 (09.06.19)

Perhaps my biggest blessing as a photographer, is the opportunity to see life through the eyes of my clients— especially families with kids older than mine.
When you’re in the thick of changing diapers and diffusing meltdowns, you feel like the chaos of kid-rearing will never end. But session after session, I meet these mamas who would give anything to freeze time, knowing firsthand how fleeting childhood is and how quickly it all goes by.
Erin is one of those moms— watching her interact with her three boys, you can see how she’s grateful for their growth, but also simultaneously grasping for their smallness, hoping to extend their need for her a minute longer. The way the youngest barely fits in her lap or how the oldest is nearly as tall as her— reminds me my littles won’t always be so little.

Witnessing interactions like these truly gives me perspective and reminds me to savor every moment with my boys. And while yes, i do leave them in order to photograph other children—I depart these sessions with a deeper gratitude for my own kids and remind myself to focus on what’s most important.
Thank you, Erin, for trusting me to document your love for your family. I’m beyond honored you drove all the way from Maryland to hire me and I thank you for letting me see motherhood through your perspective— I will cherish my own children more after getting to know you & yours♥️ (09.02.19)
