And to think, I ALMOST postponed this session…😂The forecast had initially called for overcast skies– and when I arrived, the fog was thick, the sun was bright and there was a distinct cloudy haze hovering over the inlet.Definitely NOT what I had envisioned for my last beach session in New Jersey. But once I met the family & began shooting, I realized the resulting sky was STUNNING — a light orange creamsicle cloud suspended over the ocean. And the family was just as delightful— a wild brood of rambunctious little boys, too cute for words! They were ALL about throwing sand, digging with sticks and running as far away from their parents as possible🤣I got a clear picture of what my future will look like with three boys and while I was breathlessly chasing them (almost 38 weeks pregnant), I had so much FUN capturing their excitement and joy on the beach.Thank you to my sweet friend (and fellow photographer) Theresa for trusting me to document your family! Weeping a bit, knowing my time in Jersey is coming to a close, but so grateful for the chance to have had done this before we go. (05/30/20)

This family has to be one of THE MOST joyful, whimsical, carefree families I’ve ever photographed! ✨🌱💕From frolicking in the field to running in circles, plucking buttercups and blowing wishes, these little girls were bursting with happiness from start to finish and– despite me being SUPER pregnant/mildly out of shape–it was so refreshing, chasing them around, listening to their sweet giggles😍The mama and I met through a local photographer group and let me tell you, her wedding work is stunning. This fall, they’ll welcome their third child and the gratitude she exudes is overwhelmingly evident in every image. As she once told me, she’s just so thankful to have the family she’s always dreamed of. Cue the tears. 😭Wishing you all the best, my friend.

You know when you meet someone for the first time and you can just tell they’re wise beyond their years? You sense a certain level of maturity only gained by experiencing difficulty and struggle earlier in life? That’s what I noticed in my friend Emilee during our first encounter and after getting to know her over the past two years, I’ve discovered hers is a story of strength, resiliency, ambition and love. 7 years ago she was 17, single and pregnant. She felt hopeless, depressed and alone. But then a year later she met Mike and her entire world changed. She began to feel worthy, happy and loved. She started her own very successful newborn photography business (Moments By E. Rose) and became determined to rise above her circumstances, working hard for what she wanted. And now here she is at 24, recently married, expecting baby #3 and living the life she had once only dreamed about.Emilee, I’m so proud of you and it was such a honor to photograph your family. If it wasn’t for the MamaTogs- South Jersey group, I would’ve never met such a kind, creative, driven woman who I look up to very much— despite me being almost 9 years older😂I’m blown away by how far you’ve come and I’m thankful to call you my friend.

Everyone will tell you the magic of feeling your first baby kick and move inside your belly. But no one ever mentions how much your heart will burst when that first baby is now your oldest— and how he will dote on your newest love in the most tender way.

How he will gently rub your belly and whisper to his brother.

How he will gingerly feel for movement and gasp with excitement when the baby finally kicks.

How he’ll lay his head on on your growing bump, singing songs and planting kisses.

No one prepared me for these moments. These unexpected moments that would trigger this trickle of tears, cascading down my cheeks. T

o know your oldest loves your youngest.

To feel the bond of two brothers with one soft touch. T

o grasp the sacredness of this serene memory.

And to remember this blessing for the rest of my days.
